Characteristics of the size of the vessels of the forest beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) in the Rájec – Němčice research area

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá charakteristikou rozměru cév buku lesního (Fagus sylvatica – L.) na mikroskopické úrovni. Bylo odebráno 24 vzorků ze šesti vzorníkových stromů v letech 2013–2016 za pomoci nástroje Trephor, vždy na konci vegetačního období. Z odebraných mikrovývrtů byly vyhotoveny mikroskopické preparáty, ze kterých byly pořízeny mikroskopické snímky a následně analyzovány pomocí programů WinCELL a Statistica. Tato práce měla za úkol zjistit morfometrické parametry cév ve sledovaných letech 2013–2016 v návaznosti na klimatické podmínky. Pomocí programu WinCELL byly naměřeny jednotlivé hodnoty šířky, délky, plochy a pórovitosti cév. Také byla zjištěna šířka letokruhů ve sledovaných letech. Získané hodnoty byly za pomocí ANOVY analyzovány a zjištěny statisticky významné rozdíly mezi sledovanými roky a kvadranty ve sledovaném letokruhu. Bylo zjištěno, že se vzorníkové stromy od sebe vzájemně liší. Rozměry cév byly značně variabilní. Šířka a délka cév se pohybovala v rozmezí 22–80 μm. Rozmezí plochy cév se pohybovalo od 662 μm do 4504 μm. Pórovitost se pohybovala v rozptylu 6,6–43,6 %.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the characteristics of the size of the vessels of forest beech (Fagus sylvatica – L.) at the microscopic level. 24 samples were taken from six sample trees in the years 2013–2016 using the Trephor tool, always at the end of the growing season period. Microscopic preparations were made from the taken microbores, from which microscopic images were taken and subsequently analyzed using programs WinCELL and Statistics. The task of this work was to determine the morphometric parameters of blood vessels in the monitored years 2013–2016 due to climatic conditions. They were using the WinCELL program measured individual values of width, length, area and porosity of vessels. It was also detected the width of tree rings in the monitored years. Obtained values were analyzed using ANOVA software and found statistically significant differences between the observed years and quadrants in the observed tree ring. Specimen trees were found to differ from each other. Vessel dimensions were highly variable. The width and length of the vessels ranged from 22–80 μm. The range of vessel area ranged from 662 μm to 4504 μm. The porosity varied ranging from 6.6–43.6 %.
