SOC, job satisfaction and meaningfulness of primary school teachers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem psychické odolnosti v pojetí konceptu Sense of Coherence (SOC) od Aarona Antonovského, pracovní smysluplností a spokojeností učitelů základních škol (ZŠ). Práce se skládá ze dvou částí - teoretické a výzkumné. Teoretická část se zabývá popisem konceptu SOC, salutogenezí, potenciálními zdroji zátěže učitelské profese, dále popisem pracovní smysluplnosti a spokojenosti u učitelů ZŠ. Cílem práce bylo zjistit souvislost mezi psychickou odolností v pojetí SOC, pracovní smysluplností a spokojeností učitelů ZŠ. Výzkumu se celkově zúčastnilo 184 učitelů. Využity byly tři dotazníky: dotazník SOC-29, dotazník pracovní smysluplnosti WAMI a vybrané škály dotazníku životní spokojenosti. Výsledky ukázaly úroveň SOC jako signifikantní prediktor pracovní spokojenosti a smysluplnosti. Také se ukázalo, že ženy vnímají svou profesi jako více smysluplnou oproti mužům. Navíc se ukázalo, že skupina učitelů s praxí nad 30 let je více spokojená s prací než skupina učitelů s praxí od 15 do 29 let. Výsledky jsou v práci diskutovány.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of mental resilience in the concept of Sense of Coherence (SOC) by Aaron Antonovsky, the meaningfulness of work and satisfaction of primary school teachers. The work consists of two parts - theoretical and research. The theoretical part deals with the description of the concept of SOC, salutogenesis, potential sources of burden on the teaching profession, as well as the description of work meaningfulness and satisfaction of primary school teachers. The aim of the work was to find out the connection between psychological resilience in the concept of SOC, work meaningfulness and satisfaction of primary school teachers. A total of 184 teachers participated in the research. Three questionnaires were used: the SOC-29 questionnaire, the WAMI meaningfulness of work questionnaire and selected scales of the Life Satisfaction questionnaire. The results showed the level of SOC as a significant predictor of job satisfaction and meaningfulness. It has also been shown that women perceive their profession as more meaningful than men. In addition, a group of teachers with more than 30 years of experience has been shown to be more satisfied with their work than a group of teachers with an experience of 15 to 29 years. The results are discussed in the work.
