Jewish Continuity in Rebecca Goldstein's Mazel
Abstract:
The bachelor thesis deals with the Jewish continuity in Rebecca Goldstein's novel Mazel. The core of the work is the analysis of the most significant features, which describe the Jewish continuity - the contrast between life in shtetl and life in city, a tension between modernity and traditions, and especially the theme of return to the past.
Abstract:
Bakalářská práce se zabývá židovskou kontinuitou v románu Rebeccy Goldsteinové Mazel. Hlavní náplní práce bude analýza nejvýraznějších rysů, které popisují židovskou kontinuitu - kontrast života ve štetlu s životem ve velkoměstě, napětí mezi modernitou a tradicemi a zejména téma návratu k minulosti.
