Rural Schools and Their Perspectives

Abstract:

Modern trends such as ageing population, declining fertility or increasing population mobility multiplicate changes that are particularly noticeable in the countryside. Different political or financial measures can help to cope with the unfavorable situation, but also influence future progress and development; therefore it is necessary to consider their possible impacts. The declining number of pupils associated with closure of the school and the possible decline of the area is the worst rural scenario. However, European case studies and domestic examples show that the rural areas have many positive aspects, starting with the family environment, strong relationships and ties to environment.

Abstract:

Novodobé trendy ako demografické starnutie, klesajúca pôrodnosť či zvyšujúca sa mobilita populácie umocňujú zmeny, ktoré sú badateľné najmä na vidieku. Rôzne politické či finančné opatrenia dokážu pomôcť vyrovnať sa s nepriaznivou situáciu, no zároveň vplývajú na budúci vývoj a rozvoj; preto je potrebné zvážiť ich možné dopady. Klesajúce počty žiakov, s tým spojené zatvorenie školy a následne možný úpadok oblasti je tým najhorším scenárom pre vidiek. Európske prípadové štúdie i tuzemské príklady však dokazujú, že vidiek má množstvo pozitív počnúc rodinným prostredím, pevnými vzťahmi a väzbami k prostrediu.
