Use of nicotine pouches in adolescents

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na užívání nikotinových sáčků u adolescentů na území České republiky. Specificky se pak soustředí na deskriptivní popis kontextu užívání mezi pubescentní částí populace a testování předpokladů, že vybrané osobnostní charakteristiky impulzivita a nejistá vztahová vazba k matce a otci mají vliv na faktor celoživotní prevalence užívání nikotinových sáčků. V teoretické části uceleně pojednáváme o historii a vývoji různých forem tabákových produktů. Dále se zaměřujeme na popis nikotinu a jeho kategorizaci, metabolismus, účinky na lidský organismus a jeho závislostní potenciál, což dále specifikujeme v části věnované nikotinovým sáčkům, ke kterým přidáváme i jejich právní ukotvení v ČR a ve světě. Poslední kapitoly teoretické části jsou věnované vývojové psychologii pubescentního období a vybraným osobnostním aspektům, tedy impulzivitě a attachmentu neboli citové vazbě. Praktická část se skládá z dotazníkového šetření pomocí dotazníkové baterie obsahující dotazník vlastní konstrukce, škálu impulzivity Dolejš a Skopal a Dotazník struktury vztahů. Cílem výzkumu je zejména porovnat vybrané osobnostní aspekty s faktorem celoživotní prevalence užívání nikotinových sáčků. Ve výsledcích podrobně popisujeme kontext užívání nikotinových sáčků u pubescentů a testujeme vyřčené předpoklady.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the use of nicotine pouches among adolescents in the Czech Republic. Specifically, it focuses on the description of the context of use among adolescents and testing the hypotheses of selected personality characteristics of impulsivity and insecure relational attachment in relationships to mother and father figures as factors influencing the lifetime prevalence of nicotine pouch use. In the theoretical section, we comprehensively discuss the history and development of different forms of tobacco products. We also focus on the description of nicotine and its categorisation, metabolism, effects on the human body and its addictive potential, which we further specify in the section on nicotine pouches, to which we add their legal anchorage in the Czech Republic and worldwide. The last chapters of the theoretical part are devoted to developmental psychology during puberty and selected personality aspects, i.e. impulsivity and attachment or emotional bonding. The practical part consists of a questionnaire survey using a questionnaire battery containing a self-constructed questionnaire, the Dolejš and Skopal Impulsivity Scale and the Relationship Structure Questionnaire. In particular, the aim of the research is to compare selected personality aspects with the factor of lifetime prevalence of nicotine pouch use. In the results we detail the context of nicotine sachet use in adolescents and test the assumptions made.
