The Effect of Ash Tree Condition on Species Diversity of Arboricolous Spiders

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce bylo vyhodnocení vlivu zdravotního stavu jasanů (Fraxinus excelsior) na druhovou diverzitu arborikolních pavouků. Výzkum probíhal ve čtyřech hospodářských porostech jasanových monokultur. Porosty byly v okolí Vranovic a Ivaně na jižní Moravě. Každý porost měl zvolené čtyři páry stromů, které tvořily páry zdravého vitálního stromu a stromu chřadnoucího. Sběr pavouků probíhal pomocí pastí (kartonových pásů) na kmenech stromů. Bylo to v období od července až do listopadu 2017. Materiál se roztřídil na hmyz a pavoukovce. Následně byl materiál determinován do celkem 1 212 jedinců náležících do 39 druhů pavouků. Nejpočetnější druh byl Philodromus collinus (C. L. Koch, 1835). Nejvíce druhů bylo na chřadnoucích stromech (32 druhů) a na zdravých (tolerantních) stromech bylo zjištěno 24 druhů. Nejvyšší druhová bohatost, početnost, ale i výskyt vzácných a ohrožených druhů pavouků byla nejvyšší na chřadnoucích stromech. Kvůli patogenu Hymenoscyphus fraxineus se prosvětlují porosty, na kmenech stromů se tvoří korové růžice, praská kůra a mění se struktura a mikrohabitatová rozmanitost. Výsledky ukazují na zdánlivě kladný vliv chřadnutí na druhovou diverzitu, abundanci a přítomnost vzácných druhů pavouků. Nicméně, předpokladem je, že čím více chřadnoucí porost/strom je, tím k celkovému snižování diverzity dochází. Z těchto výsledků je patrné, že biodiverzita může být ovlivněna nepůvodním organismem v ekosystému, jak v lesním biotopu, tak i v porostech ve městech např. v parcích, arboretech a stromořadích. To je nutné brát v potaz při řešení managementových úprav a ochrany dřevin v lese i mimo les.

Abstract:

The main goal of the bachelor thesis was to determine the influence of health status of ash trees (Fraxinus excelsior) on species diversity of arcoricoules spiders. Research took place in four economic stands of ash monocultures. Stands were around Vranovice and Ivaň in South Moravia. Each stand had chosen four pairs of trees that were pairs of healthy vital tree and wihtering tree. Collectrion of spiders was done by traps (cardboard traps) on tree trunks. It was from July to November 2017. Material was classified to insect and spiders. Then the material was determined to total of 1 212 individuals belonging to 39 species of spiders. The most numerous species was Philodromus collinus (C. L. Koch, 1835). The most of the species were on withering trees (32 species) and on healthy (tolerant) trees was found 24 species. The highest species richness, abundance but also occurance of rare and endangered spiders was the highest on withering trees. The areas are being brightened because of the pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus, metallic rosettes forms on the tree trunks, bark burst and structure and microhabitat diversity changes. Results shows a seemingly positive withering effect on species diversity, abundance and presence of rare species of spiders. However the prerequisite is that the more withering the stand/tree is, it occurs the total reducing of the diversity. From these results is evident that the biodiversity can be influenced by the non-native organism in the ecosystem, both in the forest habitat and in urban spaces e.g. parks, in the arboretums and in the alleyways. This must be taken into accounts in the management adjustments and protection of trees in the forest and outside the forest.
