The impact of social media on women's self-esteem and body image: implications for the organisation

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá, jak sociální sítě ovlivňují sebevědomí a vnímání tělesného obrazu žen a jaký dopad to má na jejich pracovní výkon. V teoretické části jsou uvedeny základní pojmy a teoretické kontexty relevantní pro dané téma. Na základě literární rešerše práce prezentuje současný stav poznání, včetně příkladů relevantních výzkumů, a stanovuje výzkumnou otázku. Dále je v práci představena a obhajována metoda výzkumu, kterou reprezentují hloubkové rozhovory. V praktické části prezentuji výsledky i s jejich analýzou a interpretuji je. Závěrem odpovídám na výzkumnou otázku a nabízím podněty k případné další diskusi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines how social networks affect women's self-esteem and body-image perceptions and how this impacts on their work performance. The theore-tical part presents basic concepts and theoretical contexts relevant to the topic. Based on a literature search, the thesis presents the state-of-art of knowledge in the field, inclu-ding examples of relevant research, and states the research question. Furthermore, the thesis rebuilds and defends the research method, which is represented by in-depth in-terviews. In the practical part I present the results with their analysis and interpret them. Finally, I answer the research question and offer suggestions for possible further discussion.
