Development of the euro in terms of exchange rate and price stability

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem eura z hlediska kurzové a měnové stability. Cílem práce je objasnění, zda je euro stabilní, či nikoliv. Dále jsou identifikovány faktory působící na euro, následně jsou klasifikovány dle jejich významnosti. V první části práce jsou stručně popsány okolnosti vedoucí ke vzniku eura, jako zákonného platidla v eurozóně. V eurozóně se euro chová jako fixní měnový kurz. Blíže je tedy charakterizován fixní měnový kurz včetně faktorů na něj působících. Vývoj eura a faktorů je analyzován a vzájemné souvislosti vyplývající z analýzy dat jsou interpretovány v druhé části práce.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the development of the euro in terms of exchange rate and price stability. The aim of the thesis is to clarify whether the euro is stable or not. Furthermore, the factors affecting it are identified and subsequently classified according to their significance. The first part of the thesis briefly describes the circumstances leading to the creation of the euro, which is a legal tender in the euro area. The euro acts as a fixed exchange rate in the euro area. The fixed exchange rate, including the factors affecting it, is characterized in more detail. The development of the euro and the variables that have an effect on it are analysed and the interrelationships resulting from the data analysis are interpreted in the second part of the thesis.
