Microbiota transplantation

Abstract:

Tato rigorózní práce se zabývá metodou fekální mikrobiální transplantace, při které je pacientovi do těla aplikován upravený fekální materiál od zdravého dárce za účelem obnovení rovnováhy střevní mikroflóry. V posledních letech byly pozorovány změny střevního osídlení u různých onemocnění. Tyto změny kromě jiného mohou ovlivňovat farmakologické účinky určitých léčiv a tím měnit terapeutickou odpověď a také nežádoucí účinky. Nápravou změněného střevního mikrobiomu by tedy potenciálně bylo možné ovlivňovat léčbu u nemocí, které souvisí se změnami střevní mikroflóry. Vznikla i hypotéza, zda by se určitá onemocnění nedala léčit nápravou střevní mikrobioty pacienta do původního zdravého stavu. Teoretická část popisuje metodu mikrobiální transplantace a nejdůležitější informace týkající se tématu. Praktickou část tvoří dva edukační materiály. První materiál je určen zdravotnickému personálu, druhý materiál je pacientům podstupujícím léčbu.

Abstract:

This rigorous thesis deals with the method of fecal microbiota transplantation, in which modified fecal material from a healthy donor is transported into the patient's body in order to restore the balance of intestinal microflora. In recent years, changes in the intestinal population have been observed in various diseases. Among other things, these changes can affect the pharmacological effects of certain drugs and thereby alter the therapeutic response and also the adverse effects. By correcting the altered intestinal microbiome, it would potentially be possible to influence the treatment of diseases that are related to changes in the intestinal microflora. There is also a hypothesis, as to whether certain diseases could not be treated by restoring the patient's intestinal microbiota to its original healthy state. The theoretical part describes the method of microbiota transplantation and the most important information related to the topic. The practical part consists of two educational materials. The first material is intended for medical personnel, the second material is for patients undergoing treatment.
