Role of the special forces in armed conflicts regarding the shifts and changes in security environment and trends.

Abstract:

Povaha speciálních operací a speciálních jednotek se v průběhu času měnila, a přizpůsobovala se konkrétním podmínkám a bezpečnostnímu prostředí. Tyto aspekty jsou sledovány a podrobněji rozebírány na následujících stránkách této práce, přičemž pozornost je věnována především srovnání studenoválečné doby a doby, jež následovala po ní, především pak období po 11. září 2001. Na příkladech typu Vietnamské války či Operace Trvalá svoboda je čtenáři demonstrováno, jakým způsobem se speciální síly vypořádaly s měnící se povahou konfliktů, novými výzvami a nepřáteli. Budou zde identifikovány klíčové atributy a propojeny v rámci celkového kontextu tak, aby umožnily čtenáři pochopit souvislosti této problematiky.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the role of special forces and nature of special operations during cold war era and during the modern era which started after the collapse of USSR and bipolar system. It focuses on the differences between usage and manner of maintaining special operations in these two periods of time, as it tries to explain them in the context of its specific security environment, along with the consequences, impacts and initial impulses, why this usage and manners were realized. Thesis uses one of the most typical and discussed conflicts of these eras, for example Vietnam War and Operation Enduring Freedom along with ISAF deployment, as an illustration cases. In these conflicts, key attributes and characteristics of special forces deployment are identified and connected with overall context, along with differences from the other ones mentioned in this text.
