Bohuslav Martinů and The Opening of the Springs

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o jednom z největších českých skladatelů -Bohuslavovi Martinů a jeho kantátě Otvírání studánek. Jednotlivé kapitoly nabízí čtenáři možnost hlouběji si uvědomit život Bohuslava Martinů, a tím lépe pochopit, co vše stálo za vznikem kantáty Otvírání studánek. Podrobněji je zde také popsán lidový zvyk z Vysočiny. Práce umožňuje čtenáři pohled na kantátu Otvírání studánek nejen jako na hudební dílo, nýbrž jako na dílo vzniklé na základě stesku po domově. Dílo, které je vyjádřením lásky k rodnému kraji, skladba, do které vložil skladatel celou svoji duši.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s work treats of one of the biggest Czech composers- Bohuslav Martinů and of his cantata The Opening of the Springs. Single chapters offer to reader a possibility awake to life of Bohuslav Martinů more deeply, and thereby better understand, what stood behind the creation of the cantata The Opening of the Springs. There is closely describe a folk- custom from highlands- a cleaning of the springs. This work makes possible to reader a look at the cantata The Opening of the Springs not only like at music piece, but like at the piece, composite on the basis of a homesick. The piece, which is formulation of the love to a native land, composition, to which the composer inserted all his soul.
