Relations Between Optimism, Coping Strategies and Burnout Syndrome among Doctors

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou syndromu vyhoření a jeho souvislostmi s optimismem a copingovými strategiemi v populaci praktických lékařů. Hlavním cílem výzkumu je prozkoumat, zda a v jaké míře koreluje optimismus s jednotlivými dimenzemi syndromu vyhoření a dále zjistit, které copingové strategie korelují s jednotlivými dimenzemi syndromu vyhoření pozitivně a které negativně. Rovněž jsou zkoumány souvislosti syndromu vyhoření s pohlavím, délkou praxe a aktivitami provozovanými v rámci duševní hygieny. Výzkum zahrnuje dotazníkové šetření, jehož součástí je dotazník LOT-R zjišťující míru optimismu, dále dotazník SVF 78, který slouží k identifikaci konkrétních užívaných strategií zvládání stresu a dotazník MBI sloužící ke stanovení míry syndromu vyhoření v dimenzích emocionální vyčerpání, depersonalizace a osobní uspokojení. K vyhodnocení získaných dat jsou použity adekvátní statistické metody.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with burnout syndrome and its relations with optimism and coping strategies in the population of general practitioners. The main aim of the research is to investigate if and in which extent optimism correlates with single dimensions of the burnout syndrome, and furthermore to find out which coping strategies correlate with single dimensions of the burnout syndrome positively and which negatively. Also relations between the burnout syndrome and sex, length of practice and mental hygiene activities are investigated. The research includes a questionnaire survey which consists of the questionnaire LOT-R questioning the extent of optimism, the questionnaire SVF 78 helping to identify used coping strategies and the questionnaire MBI serving to determine the degree of the burnout syndrome in dimensions emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment. For data evaluation adequate statistic methods are used.
