The Gothic Novel and its Transformations in Miloš Urban's Prose
Abstract:
Komparací textů Miloše Urbana Sedmikostelí, Stín katedrály a Santiniho jazyk a gotických románů z přelomu 18. a 19. století chce tato bakalářská práce zjistit, v jaké podobě se žánr gotického románu objevuje v postmoderních prózách Miloše Urbana. Jakými proměnami prochází a také zda mohou být tyto texty označeny jako gotické.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis wants to describe how the gothic genre is displayed in Milos Urban´s postmoderne novles Sedmikostelí, Stín katedrály and Santiniho jazyk by comparing these texts with gothic novels from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. It will focus on transformations of the gothic genre. The question also is if Urban´s novels can be really labelled as gothic.
