Abstract:

The author has chosen as the topic of her thesis the translation of selected texts from the book "Dreizehn Fastnachtspiele aus den Jahren 1539-1550" by Hans Sachs. The primary aim of this thesis was to translate the thirteenth chapter of the above mentioned book, to make a commentary of the translation process, and to add a glossary. In the theoretical part, the author deals with a translation theory. Translation typology or translation methods are mentioned. She also mentions how a translator should ideally proceed. It also discusses translation work as such. As this is a Shrovetide play (Fastnachtspiel), the translation of poetry and the process of such translation is also presented. The theoretical section concludes with a discussion of the New Early High German (Frühneuhochdeutsch). The theoretical part is smoothly followed by the practical part, which includes the translation of the original New Early Upper German text into standard German and the translation intoCzech. To give the recipient as much reading pleasure as possible, all three forms are presented in columns side by side. This is followed by a chapter listing the difficulties that arose during the translation. In the commentary we can get to know the life and work of the author Hans Sachs, as well as his Shrovetide play Die 5 elenden wandrer. A glossary with selected terms conclude the practical part.

Autorka si jako téma své diplomové práce vybrala Převod vybraných textů z díla "Dreizehn Fastnachtspiele aus den Jahren 1539-1550" od autora Hans Sachse. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo přeložit třináctou kapitola z výše uvedeného díla, vytvořit komentář k překladatelskému procesu a připojit glosář. V teoretické části se autorka zabývá překladatelskou teorií. Zmíněna je překladatelská typologie či metody překládání. Zmiňuje se i o tom, jak by měl v ideálním případě překladatel postupovat. Pojednává zde rovněž o překladatelské práci jako takové. Vzhledem k tomu, že se jedná o veršovanou masopustní hru (Fastnachtspiel), je zde představen i překlad poezie a postup takového překladu. Teoretickou část uzavírá pojednání o nové rané horní němčině (Frühneuhochdeutsch). Na teoretickou část plynule navazuje část praktická, která obsahuje převod původního novohornoněmeckého textu do standardní němčiny a následně překlad do češtiny. Ve snaze dopřát recipientovi co nejvíce požitek ze čtení jsou uvedeny všechny tři formy ve sloupcích vedle sebe. Následuje kapitola s výčtem obtíží, které během překladu vyvstaly. V komentáři se můžeme blíže seznámit s životem a dílem autora Hans Sachse, jakož i s jeho masopustní hrou Die 5 elenden wandrer. Praktickou část uzavírá glosář s vybranými termíny.
