Literature with war theme at the 2nd level of primary school - literary education project

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je prakticko-metodického charakteru. Jejím cílem a jádrem je příprava tematického bloku výukových lekcí s využitím beletrie s válečnou tematikou. Všechny lekce byly realizovány v praxi, jejich průběh byl zhodnocen a byly vyvozeny adekvátní závěry (navrženy možné drobné modifikace apod.). Realizace proběhla na základní škole v Brně, v 7., 8. a 9. ročníku. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a na část praktickou. Teoretická část je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitola si dává za cíl vymezit klíčové kompetence na základě Rámcového vzdělávacího programu. Druhá kapitola zpracovává možnosti práce s textem a vhodnost použití didaktických prostředků. Třetí kapitola teoretické části je věnována stručnému obsahu vybraných děl. V praktické části je pak s obsahem a s ukázkami z těchto knih dále pracováno. Všechny vybrané knihy spojuje válečné téma a jmenovitě se jedná se o následujících deset knih: Jarmila Loukotková: Spartakus, Walter Scott: Ivanhoe, Henryk Sienkiewicz: Potopa, A. S. Puškin: Kapitánská dcerka, Jaroslav Hašek: Osudy dobrého vojáka Švejka za světové války, Romain Rolland: Petr a Lucie, Josef Kopta: Třetí rota, Ernest Hemingway: Komu zvoní hrana, E. M. Remarque: Čas žít, čas umírat, Jan Drda: Němá barikáda. Výběr knih byl proveden s ohledem na historickou chronologii zpracovávaných válečných událostí. Těžištěm praktické části jsou samotné návrhy jednotlivých výukových lekcí realizovaných na druhém stupni základní školy. Jedná se o návrhy lekcí, které mohou posloužit jako zdroj inspirace nebo mohou být použity celé tak, jak byly navrženy. Jednotlivé lekce jsou zaměřeny na práci s ukázkami uměleckého textu a na obecné způsoby práce s textem. V lekcích se klade důraz na spolupráci s ostatními žáky a na rozvoj klíčových kompetencí. Vzhledem k vybraným publikacím je často využíván mezipředmětový vztah s výukou dějepisu. Cílem práce je seznámit žáky s ukázkami z vybraných děl a na jejich základě dosáhnout porozumění různorodým literárním textům. Primární literární (literárněvýchovný) cíl má výrazný výchovný přesah. Má žákům ukázat, že válka nepřináší nic dobrého.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is of a practical-methodical nature. Its aim and core is to prepare a thematic block of teaching lessons using fiction with a war theme. All lessons were implemented in practice, their course was evaluated and adequate conclusions were drawn (possible minor modifications were proposed, etc.). The implementation took place at the primary school in in Brno in the classes of the 7th, 8th and 9th school year The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter aims to define key competences based on the Framework Educational Program. The second chapter deals with the possibilities of analysis of the text and with the usage of appropriate didactic means. The third chapter of the theoretical part treats the brief contents of selected literary works. These contents and the samples from these selected books are further analysed in the practical part. All the chosen books have a war as a common topic. These ten following books were particularly chosen for the analysis: Jarmila Loukotkova: Spartacus, Walter Scott: Ivanhoe, Henryk Sienkiewicz: Flood, A.S. Pushkin: Captain's daughter, Jaroslav Hasek: The Good Soldier Svejk, Romain Rolland: Peter and Lucie, Josef Kopta: Third Company, Ernest Hemingway: For Whom the Bell Tolls, E.M. Remarque: Time to Love, Time to Die, Jan Drda: Silent Barricade. The choice of books was made in order to achieve historical chronology. The focus of the practical part is to propose the particular lessons already implemented in the second study cycle of primary school. These suggestions of lessons can serve as a source of inspiration or they can be used entirely as designed. The proposed lessons focus on working with samples of artistic text and on general ways of the text analysis. The lessons emphasize a cooperation with other pupils and a development of key competences. There is often an interdisciplinary relationship with the course of history due to the choice of books. The aim of the thesis is to present to pupils the samples of selected literary works and on their basis to achieve the understanding of various literary texts. The primary literary (literary-educational) goal has a strong educational overlap and it is intended to show to pupils that war is not good.
