Photosynthetic bacteria are highly abundant. The isolation and characterization of the light-harvesting complex from the Gemmatimonas phototrophica AP64T which belongs to the seventh phylum of the evolutionary important (bacterio)chlorophyll-containing bacteria are reported here.
