Development of labor share: empirical analysis

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje determinantům poklesu podílu pracovního důchodu na hrubém domácím produktu. Na základě rešerše relevantní literatury jsou nalezeny hlavní determinanty a jsou popsány teoretické přístupy k jejich vztahu s podílem pracovního důchodu. Pomocí regresní analýzy panelových dat je potom zkoumán vliv uvažovaných determinantů – technologických změn, globalizace a vyjednávací síly – na podíl pracovního důchodu. Všechny uvažované determinanty mají vliv na podíl pracovního důchodu, který se v mnoha případech liší ve vyspělých a rozvojových zemích.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the determinants of the labor share decline. On the basis of relevant literature research, there are found major determinants and are described theoretical approaches to their relationship with the share of labor income. Using panel data regression analysis is then examined the influence of considered determinants – technological change, globalization and bargaining power – to the labor share. All the considered determinants have an impact on the share of labor income, which in many cases differ in developer and developing countries.
