Chief Happiness Officer and its role in organisation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem pozice Chief Happiness Officera v organizaci, jehož úkolem je péče o zaměstnance nadstandardním způsobem založeným především na individuálním přístupu. Jde o pozici relativně novou a není tedy jednoznačně vymezena, naopak její podoba silně odráží mnohé aspekty fungování firmy, jako je podniková kultura, přístup k řízení lidských zdrojů, nebo firemní vize. Cílem práce je zmapovat fungování teoretických principů, na nichž je myšlenka Chief Happiness Officera založena v reálné organizaci. K tomuto účelu byl zvolen středně velký podnik disponující zmíněnou pozicí. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část shrnuje postavení jedince v organizaci, přístupy k péči o něj a vlivy, které působí na jeho spokojenost. Empirická část pak obsahuje poznatky z výzkumu provedeného v reálné firmě, přičemž její podstatou je analýza činností CHO a postoj zaměstnanců k těmto aktivitám. Cílem je identifikovat jak silné stránky, tak rezervy působení CHO v organizaci.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of Chief Happiness Officer's position in the organization. His job is to care about employees in an above-standard way based on an individual approach. It is a new position and is therefore not clearly defined. Its image reflects many aspects of operation of the company, such as business culture, access to human resources management, or corporate vision.The aim of the thesis is to map the functioning of the theoretical principles of the idea of Chief Happiness Officer in a real organization. For this purpose, a medium-sized enterprise has been elected. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part summarizes the position of the individual in the organization, the approaches to care for him / her and the influences that affect his / her satisfaction. The empirical part includes the findings of a research conducted in a real company, the essence of which is the analysis of the activities of the CHO and the attitude of the employees towards these activities. The goal is to identify both the strengths and the reserves of CHO in the organization.
