Methyl alcohol intoxication

Abstract:

Hromadná intoxikace metanolem v České republice vypukla v září 2012 a byla velmi nebezpečná, neboť metanol byl součástí destilátů a lihovin, prodávaných ve stáncích, ale i v kamenných obchodech. Byla proto vyhlášena časově omezená prohibice na prodej a podávání destilátů obsahující nad 20 % alkoholu. V České republice podlehlo této intoxikaci mnoho lidí, případně u nich vznikly velmi vážné zdravotní následky, nejčastěji ztráta zraku. Tato práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se zabývá, příznaky intoxikace metanolem a možnosti její léčby. V další části jsou popsány zkušenosti jiných zemí s hromadnou intoxikací metanolem. Praktická část je rozdělena na dvě části. První část se zabývá kazuistikami dvou klientů. Z nichž jeden klient byl léčen antidotem Etanolem, a druhý antidotem Fomepizolem. Druhá část práce je věnována průzkumnému šetření. Tento průzkum je zaměřen na znalosti všeobecných sester v oblasti péče a léčby intoxikací metanolem. Data pro tento průzkum byla získána pomocí nestandardizovaného dotazníku. V závěru jsou shrnuty opatření, které by mohly vést ke snížení následků intoxikace metanolem.

Abstract:

Mail methanol intoxication in the Czech Republic broke out in September 2012 and was very dangerous, because methanol was part of liquors and spirits sold in kiosks, as well as in stores. It was therefore declared a temporary prohibition on the sale and serving of spirits containing over 20 % alcohol. In the Czech Republic succumbed to the intoxication of many people, or they incurred very serious health consequences most vision loss. This work is divided into theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with methanol intoxication symptoms and treatment options. The next section describes the experience of other countries with public intoxication methanol. The practical part is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the case study of two clients. Of which one client was treated with antidote, ethanol, and one antidote fomepizole. The second part is devoted to exploratory investigation. This research focuses on the knowledge of nurses in the care and treatment of methanol intoxication. Data for this survey were obtained using a special questionnaire. The conclusion summarizes the measures that could lead to a reduction in the effects of methanol intoxication.
