Treponema pallidum je původcem venerického onemocnění syfilis. Díky své schopnosti unikat imunitnímu systému bývá označována za neviditelného patogena. Dodnes není znám mechanismus vzniku infekce. Nové světlo by měl přinést popis genové exprese. T. pallidum se nedá kultivovat in vitro, pro studium treponemálních promotorů byla využita Escherichia coli. Abstract:
Treponema pallidum is the causative agent of syphilis. It is known as a shealth pathogen for its ability to avoid immune response. The mechanism of pathogenesis is still unknown. Description of gene expression should shed the new light. T. pallidum can not be cultured in vitro. Escherichia coli was exploited to study treponemal promoters.
