Strategy evaluation of the company Chart Industries, Inc. to expand on the market with hydrogen technologies

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zhodnotit stávající strategii společnosti Chart Industries, Inc. expandovat na trh s vodíkovými technologiemi za pomoci nezávisle vypracované strategické analýzy. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části jsou charakterizovány použité metody s odkazem na odbornou literaturu a zdroje. Tyto metody jsou pak následně aplikovány na společnost v praktické části této práce. Mezi vybrané metody patří například pro analýzu vnějšího prostředí PESTLE analýza nebo analýza pomocí Porterova modelu pěti sil, a pro vnitřní prostředí poté VRIO analýza a finanční analýza. Výstupem strategické analýzy této práce je SWOT analýza. V závěru jsou shrnuty nejdůležitější poznatky a na jejich základě jsou vydána strategická doporučení. Tato práce bude přínosná především pro management společnosti jako zdroj pro případnou úpravu jejich stávající strategie.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to evaluate the current strategy of Chart Industries, Inc. to expand on the market with hydrogen technologies with the help of an independently developed strategic analysis. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part characterizes used methods with reference to the scientific literature and sources. These methods are then applied to the company in the practical part of this work. Selected methods include, for example, PESTLE analysis or Porter's five-force analysis for the external environment analysis, and VRIO analysis and financial analysis for the internal environment. The output of the strategic analysis of this work is a SWOT analysis. In conclusion, the most important findings are summarized and based on them, strategic recommendations are issued. This thesis will be beneficial for the company's management as a source for an adjustment of their current strategy.
