The role of grandparents in the family from the child's point of view

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá tématem mezigeneračních vztahů v rodině, konkrétně rolí prarodičů v rodině pohledem dítěte, tedy vnoučete. Standardně je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část empirickou. Teoretická část vymezuje základní pojmy související s danou problematikou a je rozčleněna do několika kapitol. Konkrétně se jedná o kapitolu zaměřenou na rodinu, její funkce a přináší také pohled na to, jak se měnila rodina v průběhu historie až po současnost. Další důležitou kapitolu tvoří prarodičovství, ve které je objasněna role prarodiče v rodině. Na kapitolu prarodičovství navazuje kapitola zaměřena na mezigenerační vztahy a vztah prarodiče s vnoučetem. Teoretická část je ukončena kapitolou o mezigeneračním učením, ve které je nastíněno i mezigenerační učení mezi prarodičem a vnoučetem. V empirické části je představena metodologie a výsledky výzkumného šetření, které jsou získány prostřednictvím kvalitativního výzkumu, za pomoci polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s dětmi mladšího školního věku. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jaká je role prarodiče v rodině pohledem dítěte.

Abstract:

The master's thesis deals with the topic of intergenerational relations in the family, specifically the role of grandparents in the family from the perspective of the child, i.e. the grandchild. By default, it is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part defines the basic terms related to the issue and is divided into several chapters. Specifically, this is a chapter focused on the family, its functions, and it also provides an insight into how the family has changed throughout history up to the present. Another, important chapter is about grandparents, in which the role of the grandparent in the family is clarified. The chapter on grandparenting is followed by a chapter focused on intergenerational relationships and the grandparent-grandchild relationship. The theoretical part ends with a chapter on intergenerational learning, in which intergenerational learning between grandparent and grandchild is also outlined. The empirical part presents the methodology and results of the research investigation, which are obtained through qualitative research, with the help of semi-structured interviews with children of younger school age. The aim of the thesis is to find out what the role of the grandparent in the family is from the perspective of the child.
