Abstract:

Úvodem bakalářské práce jsou představeny směry, které vytvořily oporu pro umělce reagující na společenské poměry v meziválečném období a v průběhu druhé světové války. Následně jsou zmíněny důvody a důsledky hitlerovské kulturní politiky a příčiny uměleckého odporu vůči nacistickému režimu. Práce se dále věnuje tématu funkční a nefunkční satiry v umění období druhé světové války. Stěžejním příkladem funkční satiry je v této práci dílo Johna Heartfielda, které bylo pronikavou satirou nacistického režimu a jeho představitelů. Do její opozice je postavena putovní nacistická výstava Entartete Kunst. Cílem práce je popis role satiry v uměleckém prostředí dvanácti let tisícileté říše nacistického Německa a zdůvodnění, proč jsou Heartfieldovy fotokoláže satirou, zatímco režimní pokus o satirizaci moderny ztroskotal.

Abstract:

Firstly, this thesis introduces artistic styles that established the basis for artists who reacted to the situation of the society during theperiod from 1920s to 1940s. Furthermore, the reasons and consequences of Nazi cultural policy and reasons why the artists resisted the Nazi regime are outlined. In the following chapters this thesis focuses on the topic of functional and non functional satire during the Second World War. John Heartfield and his artwork, which mostly consisted of satire on the Nazi regime and its representatives, was chosen as a representative of the functional satire. As a contrast to Heartfield, this work also mentions a travelling Nazi exhibition Entartete Kunst. The key objective of this thesis is to describe the role of satire in the artistic circles during the twelve-year-long existence of the millennial empire of Nazi Germany and an explanation why Heartfield’s work can be considered to be a satire while the Nazi attempt of satirization of modernist art cannot.
