The Language of the Nazi Propaganda

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is about implementing nazi ideology in the language environment of the Third Reich. It elaborates on main features of nazi ideology such as racism, anticommunism, antidemocratism, elimination of parliamentarianism, ideology ''Blut und Boden“ (''blood and soil“) and social Darwinism. On the basis of these attributes described are particular forms of its language realization like aggressiveness and hatred, human race contempt, vulgarity, use of metaphors and symbols, euphemism, sentimentality and semantic word changes. The thesis builds theoretically on linguistic, sociological, psychological, historical and other specialized books, practically on Hitler's book ''Mein Kampf“, nazi newspaper ''Völkischer Beobachter“, public speeches and contemporary documents. The text is accompanied by examples and figures.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá formami realizace nacistické ideologie v jazykové realitě Třetí říše. Vychází z hlavních znaků nacistické ideologie jako byl především rasismus, antikomunismus, antidemokratismus, odstranění parlamentarismu, ideologie „Blut und Boden“ („krev a půda“) a sociální darwinismus. Na základě těchto znaků pak popisuje jednotlivé formy jejich jazykové realizace k nimž patří například agresivita a nenávist, pohrdání lidskou osobností, vulgarita, používání metafor a symboliky, eufemismus, sentimentalita a sémantické změny slov. V rovině teoretické vychází z jazykovědných, sociologických, psychologických, dějepisných a jiných odborných knih, v rovině praktické z Hitlerovy knihy „Mein Kampf“, nacistických novin „Völkischer Beobachter“, veřejných projevů a dobových dokumentů. Text je doplněn příklady a obrázky.
