The level of provided social services in the Olomouc Region concerning the mental health related to the ongoing reform of psychiatric care

Abstract:

Cílem rigorózní práce byla snaha zmapovat aktuální saturaci trhu v oblasti poskytovaných sociálních služeb v Olomouckém kraji, jejichž cílovou skupinou jsou osoby s duševním onemocněním, a to v přímé souvislosti s probíhající reformou psychiatrické péče. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. V úvodní části se zabývám pojmy, jako je role sociálního pedagoga v procesu transformace péče v psychiatrii nebo problematikou duševního zdraví. Teoretická část graduje křiklavými tématy, např. deinstitucionalizace nebo multidisciplinarita, čímž rozumíme přechod od paternalistického přístupu k současnému trendu individuální péče, kdy vycházím z doporučených zdrojů a zkušeností. Dále rigorózní práce kriticky poukazuje na současný stav ve společnosti ve vztahu k osobám s duševním onemocněním, kdy je na ně nahlíženo majoritní společností s despektem. Podrobná deskripce jednotlivých determinantů, které ovlivňují kvalitu života osob s duševním onemocněním, je jedním ze stěžejních úkolů reformy psychiatrické péče. Prostřednictvím sociálních služeb by měla být zajištěna těmto osobám odpovídající kvalita života v jejich přirozeném prostředí, aby zaujímaly důstojné role ve společnosti a byla dodržována veškerá lidská práva. V praktické části prostřednictvím empirického výzkumu prokazuji souvislost faktu, že po transformaci sociálních služeb v důsledku probíhající reformy psychiatrické péče, jsou poskytnuty adekvátní služby a podpora osobám s duševním onemocněním, a to především udržení běžného sociálního standardu s odpovídající kvalitou života. Na základě vyzkoumaných dat reflektuji význam a přínos reformy v oblasti duševního zdraví, která ve spolupráci se sociálními službami Olomouckého kraje nabízí odpovídající a dostatečné služby, které pokryjí veškeré potřeby pro osoby s duševním onemocněním, kdy nezastupitelnou roli v této transformaci zastává sociální pedagog.

Abstract:

The aim of this rigorous work is to map the current saturation of the market in the field of social services in the Olomouc region, of which target group are people with mental illness, in direct connection with the ongoing reform of psychiatric care. The work is divided into two parts. The introduction part deals with concepts such ad the role of the social pedagogue in the process of transformation of care in psychiatry or the issue of mental health. The theoretical part touches topics such as deinstitutionalization or multidisciplinarity, which means the transition from a paternalistic approach to the current trend of individual care, based on recommended resources and practical experience. Furthermore, the rigorous critical work looks at the current state of society in relation to people with mental illness, who are viewed at with contempt by the major part of the society. A detailed description of the individual determinants that affect the quality of life of people with mental illness is one of the key tasks of psychiatric care reform, where social services should ensure an adequate quality of life in the natural environment, to take on a dignified role in society and respect all human rights. In the practical part, through empirical research, I demonstrate the connection between the fact that after the transformation of social services due to the ongoing reform of psychiatric care, adequate services and support are provided to people with mental illness, especially maintaining a normal social standard with adequate quality of life. Based on the examined data, I reflect on the importance and benefits of the reform in the field of mental health, which in cooperation with social services of the Olomouc region offers adequate and sufficient services to cover all needs of people with mental illness.
