V rámci evropského projektu ELIXIR byla vytvořena unikátní databáze bioinformatických nástrojů bio.tools, která se, na rozdíl od jiných podobných databází, zaměřuje hlavně na formální anotaci funkcí jednotlivých nástrojů. Abstract:
Within the European project ELIXIR, a unique database of bioinformatics tools called bio.tools was created. Bio.tools, unlike other similar databases, focuses mainly on the formal annotation of the functions of individual tools. These functions are described by the EDAM ontology.
