Abstract:

Diplomová práce předkládá problematiku diagnostiky a konsolidace umělých pískovců s epoxidovým pojivem z 80. let 20. století a navazující restaurování faksimile sochy Štědrosti z hospitálu Kuks z téhož období. Předmětem restaurování je faksimile, jež je součástí jedné z nejrozsáhlejších výměn originálů od Matyáše Bernarda Brauna za výdusky z umělého kamene pojeného epoxidovou pryskyřicí. Tato výměna proběhla v mezi lety 1976 až 1995. Epoxidové výdusky v Kuksu, stejně jako jiné realizace tohoto typu, se nyní nenachází v uspokojivém stavu a objekty vyžadují restaurátorský zásah. Nejdříve bylo nutné zaměřit se na archivní průzkum zahrnující historii, dobové techniky a materiály výdusku. Experimentální část diplomové práce se zabývá nalezením vhodného konsolidačního prostředku pro umělý kámen pojený epoxidovou pryskyřicí a optimálního způsobu jejich aplikace. Restaurátorská část prezentuje průzkum a restaurování epoxidové faksimile sochy Štědrosti. Na základě výsledků průzkumů a zkoušek konsolidace byl vytvořen modelový projekt restaurovaní objektů z umělého kamene pojeného epoxidovou pryskyřicí. Úspěšný modelový restaurátorský zákrok byl poté realizován na soše Štědrosti.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis presents the issue of diagnosis and consolidation of artificial sandstones with an epoxy binder from the 80s of the 20th century and the subsequent restoration of a facsimile of the statue of Generosity from the Kuks hospital from the same period. The object of the restoration is a facsimile, which is part of one of the most extensive exchanges of originals by Matyáš Bernard Braun for facsimiles made of artificial stone bonded with epoxy resin. This exchange took place between 1976 and 1995. Epoxy facsimiles in Kuks, like other implementations of this type, are not in satisfactory condition and the objects require restoration. First of all, it was necessary to focus on archival research focused on the history, period techniques, and materials of the facsimiles. The experimental part of the thesis deals with finding a suitable consolidation agent for artificial stone bonded with epoxy resin and the optimal method of their application. The restoration part presents the diagnosis and restoration of epoxy facsimile of Generosity. Based on the results of surveys and consolidation tests, a model project was created for the restoration of objects made of artificial stone with epoxy resin binder. A successful model restoration operation was then carried out on a facsimile of the statue of Generosity.
