Práce se zabývá vývojem, problematikou a prevencí neoprávněných odběrů elektřiny z pohledu zákona č. 458/2000 Sb. a z pohledu distribučních společností. Vývoj je porovnáván za posledních 10 let (2012-2021). Částečně je popsán i proces výpočtu náhrady škody za neoprávněný odběr elektřiny, který je dnes určován dle vyhlášky č. 359/2020 Sb.
