Abstract:

Freskařské dílo Josefa Kramolína v severních Čechách Pozdně barokní malíř, žák Ignáce Raaba Josef Kramolín se narodil 12. dubna 1730 v Nymburce. Vymaloval v severních Čechách sedm venkovských a farních kostelů. V roce 1757 vstoupil do jezuitského řádu jako bratr laik. Kramolín maloval oltářní obrazy, ale především byl činný jako freskař. Podstatnou část freskové tvorby Josefa Kramolína tvoří ilusivní architektury. V tvorbě iluzivních architektur byl ovlivněn jezuitským malířem Andreou Pozzem a hlavně jeho žákem Janem Hieblem, který působil v Čechách. Jako freskový malíř pracoval především pro jezuitský řád a po jeho zrušení v roce 1773 pro katolickou církev a šlechtické objednavatele. První ilusivní oltář namaloval v roce 1769 v kostele sv. Petra a Pavla v Úštěku a další v roce 1772 v jezuitském kostele Zvěstování Panny Marie v Litoměřicích.V roce 1784 vyzdobil kostel sv. Petra a Pavla v Chcebuzi. Namaloval na klenby lodi fresky ze života sv. Petra a v presbytáři ilusivní architekturu hlavního oltáře. V roce 1785 vymaloval kostel sv. Šimona a Judy ve Štětí. V presbytáři ilusivní architektura hlavního oltáře a v lodi další dva ilusivní oltáře. Nástropní freska v lodi představuje sv. Šimona a Judu se světci a Nejsvětější Trojicí. V roce 1788 vyzdobil kostel sv. Maří Magdaleny v Holanech u České Lípy freskami ze života sv. Maří Magdaleny a namaloval znovu v presbytáři ilusivní architekturu hlavního oltáře. V letech 1788 1790 vymaloval kostel sv. Ondřeje v Jestřebí. V presbytáři ilusivní architektura s olejovým obrazem představujícím sv. Ondřeje. Na klenbu v presbytáři namaloval ilusivní kazetovanou kupoli. V lodi dekorativní nástropní freska. Poslední zakázkou byla výzdoba kostela sv. Kříže v Děčíně patřící šlechtickému rodu Thunů. Na klenby kostela namaloval fresky představující příběh pravého kříže Kristova.

Abstract:

Josef Kramolíns fresco masterpiece in Northern Bohemia Josef Kramolín, a late Baroque painter and a student of Ignác Raab, was born on 12th April 1730 in Nymburk. He painted seven rural and parochial churches in the north of Bohemia. In 1757 he joined the Jesuit order as a monk layman. Kramolín painted altar pictures, however, he was rather active as a fresco painter. The fundamental part of his fresco masterpieces consists of illusive architecture. When creating the illusive architecture he was influenced by the Jesuit painter, Andrea Pozzo, and above all by his student, Jan Hiebl, who worked in Bohemia that time. As a fresco painter he worked mainly for the Jesuit order and after its abolition in 1773 he started to paint for the Catholic church and clients from among the aristocracy. He painted his first illusive altar in 1769 in St. Peter and Pauls Church in the town of Úštěk and another one in 1772 in the Jesuit Church of the Annunciation in Litoměřice. In 1784 he decorated St. Peter and Pauls Church in Chcebuz. He painted frescos depicting St. Peters life on the vaults of the nave and an illusive architecture of the main altar in the presbytery. In 1785 he painted St. Simons and St. Judas Church in the town of Štětí. In particular, it was an illusive architecture of the main altar in the presbytery and another two illusive altars in the nave. The fresco on the nave ceiling depicts St. Simon and St. Juda with saints and the Holy Trinity. In 1788 he decorated the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Holany near Česká Lípa with frescos depicting the life of St. Mary Magdalene and once again, he painted an illusive architecture of the main altar in the presbytery. In 1788 1790 he painted St. Andrews Church in the town of Jestřebí. In the church presbytery there is an illusive architecture with oil picture depicting St. Andrew. Furthermore, he painted an illusive cupola with compartments on the presbytery vault. There is also a decorative ceiling fresco in the nave. Decoration of the St. Cross Church in Děčín, owned by the noble family of Thun, was his last commission. He painted frescos depicting the story of the Christs true cross on the church vaults.
