German Teenager between Two Worlds

Abstract:

The construction of the Berlin Wall not only symbolized the division of the city, but also also the separation of two different societies and models of life. The western side represented capitalism, democracy and open society, while the eastern side for socialism, the planned economy and the ideological control stood. This work aims to explore the implications of these shared realities on people's lives.

Die Errichtung der Berliner Mauer symbolisierte nicht nur die Teilung der Stadt, sondern auch die Trennung zweier unterschiedlicher Gesellschaften und Lebensmodelle. Die westliche Seite repräsentierte den Kapitalismus, die Demokratie und die offene Gesellschaft, während die östliche Seite für den Sozialismus, die Planwirtschaft und die ideologische Kontrolle stand. Diese Arbeit zielt darauf ab, die Auswirkungen dieser geteilten Realitäten auf das Leben der Menschen.
