Abstract:

This Diploma thesis deals with the Germanic tribes of the Goths and the Anglo-Saxons, especially with the influence of the Goths on the culture and history of the Anglo-Saxons. The primary aim is to inform reader about the historical backround of the period in which these tribes lived and sketch the world of the Germans together with the history and everyday life of the goths and the Anglo-Saxons. The major part of the Diploma thesis is concerned with the traces of the Goths in the history and culture of the Anglo-Saxons in the fields as a literature, language, art and history.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá germánskými kmeny Gótů a Anglosasů, zvláště pak působení Gótů na kulturu a historii Anglosasů. Primárním cílem práce je seznámit čtenáře s historickým pozadím doby, ve které tyto kmeny žily a přiblížit mu svět Germánů spolu s historií a životem Gótů a Anglosasů. Hlavní část práce se pak zabývá samotnými stopami Gótů v historii a kultuře Anglosasů v oblastech jako je literatura, jazyk, umění a historie.
