Data model parameterization and its usage

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem parametrizovatelného datového modelu ve vybrané oblasti podnikové praxe. Práce seznamuje čtenáře s pojmem parametrizace v oblasti datového modelování a zároveň demonstruje praktickou ukázku využití parametrizace na modelové situaci. Hlavním cílem práce je demonstrace možnosti parametrizace na návrhu datového modelu odpovídajícího vybrané oblasti zkoumání. V praktické časti je představen postupný proces návrhu parametrizovatelného datového modelu. Návrh je vytvořen za pomoci nástroje SAP PowerDesigner a parametrizace je provedena ve webové aplikaci, která používá Apache Velocity Engine. Aby byl návrh pro čtenáře co nejjednodušší, je realizován na příkladu afrického fintech startupu. Text práce je určen čtenářům s hlubším zájmem o datové modelování. Navrhovaný postup je užitečný při tvorbě jednotného a konzistentního řešení pro několik logicky oddělených, ale strukturou podobných podnikatelských subjektů.

Abstract:

The Master thesis deals with the design of a parameterized data model in a selected business area. The work describes the concept of parameterization in the data modeling field and demonstrates an example of the practical usage of parameterization in a model situation. The main goal of this thesis is to demonstrate the possibility of a parameterization on the data model design corresponding to a selected business area. The practical part presents a gradual process of designing a parameterized data model. The model is created using SAP PowerDesigner and parameterization is performed in a web application using the Apache Velocity Engine. The solution is implemented on the example of an African fintech startup for a better understanding of the reader. The text of the thesis is intended for readers with a deeper interest in data modeling. The proposed method is useful for creating a unified and harmonized
