V súčasnosti sú malé a ľahké zbrane veľmi významným problémom. Tejto problematike sa však venuje pomerne malý priestor, tak isto ako aj kontrole týchto zbraní. Cieľom práce je preto popísať proces vytvárania Globálnej kontroly malých a ľahkých zbraní ako medzinárodného režimu. Taktiež sa pokúsi analyzovať rolu, ktorú zohralo OSN pri jeho vytváraní.
