With a mobile phone at the campfire: transformations of the songbook of popular songs in the era of digital media

Abstract:

Patrně neexistuje zpěvník, který by měl větší vliv na formování kánonu českých po-pulárních písní než sborníková série Já, písnička autora Petra Jánského. Dramatur-gicky pokrývá lidové i trampské písně, výběr z populární hudby a několik hymen prostřednictvím jejich textů, notace a akordových hmatů. Díla obsažená ve zpěvníku jsou často skupinově reprodukována v rámci společenských události, jelikož jsou je-jich texty a melodie obecně známé kvůli používání při několikaleté výuce Hudební výchovy během základního a navazujícího vzdělávání, včetně toho neformálního v podobě volnočasových aktivit. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá konfrontací písňové kultury a nových médií. Hudba jakožto historicky zavedené médium komunikace v některých svých podobách získává formu média izolace, proto zpěvníky v dnešní společnosti již také neplní stejné funkce jako před několika dekádami. Přesto jsou stále populární – jen je potřeba je hledat nikoliv na poličkách knihoven, ale v rozlič-ných hudebních streamovacích službách pod označením playlist. Práce tak pomocí mapování tendencí na poli digitálních technologií analyzuje aktuální podoby sdílení v rámci písňové subkultury.

Abstract:

There is probably no songbook that would have a greater influence on the formation of the canon of Czech popular songs than the anthology series Já, písnička by the author Petr Jánský. Dramaturgically, it covers folk and tramp songs, it contains a selection of popular music and several hymns through their lyrics, notation and chord touches as well. The works contained in the songbook are often reproduced in groups as part of social events, as their texts and melodies are generally known for use in several years of teaching music education during primary and continuing ed-ucation, including informal in the form of leisure activities. This diploma thesis deals with the confrontation of song culture and new media. Music as a historically estab-lished medium of communication in some of its forms acquires the form of a medi-um of isolation, which is the reason why songbooks in today's society no longer per-form the same functions as a few decades ago. Nevertheless, they are still popular - you just need to look for them not on library shelves, but in various music streaming services as what is called a playlist. The work thus analyses the current forms of sharing within the song-writing subculture by mapping trends in the field of digital technologies.
