The tendencies in the development of military expenses in the second half of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je podat ucelený přehled o výdajích na zbrojení z doby studené války a v následujícím období. Popisuje historické události, jako třeba vojenské konflikty, které ovlivnily zbrojní závody. Text se soustřeďuje na státy s nejvyššími zbrojními výdaji a podrobuje je vzájemnému srovnání. Práce obsahuje informace o samotných výdajích na zbrojení, vesmírném závodě a částečně o kontrole a omezení zbrojení. Dále se věnuje teoriím mezinárodních vztahů, které jsou na zbrojení navázány.

Abstract:

This paper, The tendencies in the development of military expenses in the second half of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century, aims to give a closer picture about the arms race of The Cold War and of the following era. Its target is to clearly set out historical events such as wars or similar conflicts that influenced global and regional arms race?s trends. Focused on the biggest military spenders, the thesis tries to compare both eras? development. That includes the military expenses itself, The Space Race and partly the disarmament and arms control. The paper also includes information about the theories of international relations that are linked to armament.
