Reflection of Contemporary Society in the World of Harry Potter
Abstract:
This thesis tries to find parallels between the fictional world of Harry Potter and the contemporary British society; it focuses mainly on education, family, puberty and some chosen phenomena in society. The aim of the thesis is to prove that J. K. Rowling?s work is not nearly as fictional as it might seem, but that it is largely a reflection of the reality of the British society.
Abstract:
Tato práce se pokouší nalézt paralely mezi fiktivním světem Harryho Pottera a soudobou britskou společností, přičemž se zaměřuje především na školství, rodinné poměry, dospívání a některé vybrané společenské jevy. Cílem práce je dokázat, že dílo J. K. Rowlingové není zdaleka tak fiktivní, jak se na první pohled může zdát, ale že je z velké části odrazem reality britské společnosti.
