Anti-Semitism in the health care and attitude of general nurses to the jewish patiens

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je "Antisemitismus ve zdravotnictví a postoj všeobecných sester k židovským pacientům". Teoretická část diplomové práce je zaměřená na antisemitismus, judaismus, multikulturní a transkulturní ošetřovatelství a specifika ošetřovatelské péče o K/P židovského vyznání, které jsou především závislé na židovských zvycích a tradicích. Empirická část má za cíl zjistit, jaké vědomosti mají všeobecné sestry o problematice antisemitismu, vyhodnotit postoj všeobecných sester k židovským K/P a zmapovat, jaké mají všeobecné sestry vědomosti, týkající se židovských zvyků. K získání informací byl použit elektronický či tištěný dotazník, který byl distribuován po celé České republice do zdravotnických zařízení. Získané poznatky byly zpracovány do tabulek a grafů. Bylo prokázáno, že všeobecné sestry mají dobré vědomosti o problematice antisemitismu, ke každému K/P přistupují jako k bio psycho - socio - spirituální bytosti a respektují jeho náboženské vyznání. Jediný malý nedostatek, který všeobecné sestry projevovaly, byl v oblasti židovských zvyků.

Abstract:

The subject of this diploma thesis is "Anti-Semitism in the health care and attitude of general nurses to the jewish patiens". The theoretical part is focused on the anti-semitism, judaism, multicultural and transcultural nursing, and the specifics of the jewish client/patient nursing, which are mainly dependent on the jewish habits and traditions. The empirical part's targets are to determine the knowledge that general nurses have about anti-semitism, to determine the attitude of the general nurses to the jewish clients/patients, and to determine the knowledge of the general nurses about the jewish habits. For obtaining this data were used electronic and physical questionnaries, which were distributed to the medical institutions over the Czech republic. The obtained data were processed into the tables and graphs. It was proven that the general nurses have good knowledge about anti-semitism, their attitude to every client/patient is like to the bio psycho socio spiritual being, and they respect the client's/patient's religion. The only small deficit in the nurse's knowledge was the area of the jewish habits.
