Abstract:

In my thesis I am merging fragments, which appear to be unmergeable at first blush. The main theme is the representation of Slovak folklore and folk costumes, which I see as a connection with my own roots. However, with gradual adding and withdrawing of components to the paintings, this work becomes a reflection of how we perceive pictures of our present, thanks to processing the testimonies of the past. By using collage as an approach to the painting, I apply television static noise as a hint of present day digitalization, which overlaps with images of the past.

Abstract:

Vo svojej diplomovej práci spájam zdanlivo nespojiteľné fragmenty, hlavným motívom , z korého vychádzam je podoba slovenského folklóru a kostýmu, ktorý vnímam ako prepojenie s mojimi koreňmi, avšak postupným pridávaním a uberaním prvkov sa stáva táto práca reflexiou vnímania obrazovej doby, vďaka spracúvaniu dokladov o minulosti. Kolážovitým prístupom k maľbe používam štruktúru televízneho zrnenia, ako náznaku digitalizácie súčasnosti, ktorá sa prelína s obrazmi minulosti.
