Abstract:
Bakalářská práce se zabývá zobrazením ženských hrdinek v povídkách Edgara Allana Poea a Angely Carterové. Porovnává různé ženské hrdinky v příbězích Poea a Carterové s důrazem na zobrazení ženského těla a mysli a obhajuje tvrzení, že síla těchto výjimečných postav se nachází zvláště v jejich ženskosti. This bachelor thesis deals with the portrayal of female characters in the short stories of Edgar Allan Poe and Angela Carter. It compares the various female protagonists with the emphasis on the depiction of the female body and mind and argues that the women of Poe’s and Carter’s stories are all unique characters whose power lies in their femininity.
