Comparison of active recitifiers

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce je zaměřena na aktivní usměrňovače používané ve výkonové elektronice. Konkrétně porovnává vlastnosti dvou typů aktivních usměrňovačů, které používají jako spínací součástky výkonové tranzistory. Prvním z nich je měnič s názvem Smart Line Module, který funguje v usměrňovačovém chodu jako klasický diodový usměrňovač a ve střídačovém chodu vedou místo diod tranzistory. Druhým z nich je měnič s názvem Active Front End, jehož tranzistory pracují s vektorovým řízením v obou pracovních režimech a jsou spínány mnohem vyšší frekvencí. První část práce se zabývá jejich topologií a vlastnostmi. V druhé části práce je vytvořen návrh regulační struktury pro měnič Smart Line Module a popsáno vektorové řízení pro měnič Active Front End. V třetí části bylo nutné sestavit simulační modely a ty postupně odladit pro správnou funkci celého systému. Simulace byly prováděny v různých režimech, přechodných stavech, při změně spínací frekvence atd. Poslední část porovnává oba měniče podle obsahu vyšších harmonických v síťovém proudu, harmonického zkreslení proudu sítě, zvlnění napětí ve stejnosměrném meziobvodu, vlivu změn spínací frekvence a poklesů napětí v síti, ale také podle jejich dynamiky v přechodných stavech.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on active rectifiers used in power electronics. There are two types of active rectifiers, which use transistors as switching components. The first converter is called Smart Line Module. It works as a standard diode rectifier in the rectifier operation. In the recuperation mode, transistors are driven to conduct electric current in the proper way. The second converter is called Active Front End. Its transistors are driven by a vector control in both operating modes and its switching frequency is higher than by the first type of converter. The first part of this thesis focuses on topology and properties of these converters. In the second part, there a control structure was designed and the vector control was described. In the third part, there was necessary to create simulation models and debug them to the proper function of the whole system. Simulations were realized in different modes, transient states, with switching frequency changing, etc. The final part compares these converters according to the harmonic content of the network current, total harmonic distortion of the network current, voltage ripple in the DC link, influence of the switching frequency changes and network voltage drops, but also according to their dynamics in the transient states.
