Agglomeration of nanoparticles in liquid media used for aquatic toxicity tests on water organisms

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce shrnuje informace o analytických technikách použitelných při studiu aglomerace nanočástic v kapalných médiích s ohledem na jejich použitelnost v rámci ekotoxikologických studií. Definuje vlastnosti nanočástic a základní fyzikálně chemické parametry kapalného prostředí, které ovlivňují rychlost a míru aglomerace. Je diskutován vliv jednotlivých parametrů na výsledky ekotoxikologických testů na vodních organismech a experimentální přístupy vedoucí k potlačení těchto vlivů. V experimentální části práce byla charakterizována aglomerace koloidů stříbra, zlata a oxidu titaničitého. Chování těchto částic bylo ověřeno v prostředích různých parametrů. Získané poznatky byly využity při návrzích modifikací testů toxicity na vodních organismech.

Abstract:

This bachelor work resumes the information about analytical techniques used by study of agglomeration of nanoparticles in liquid medium considering their applicability within the framework of ecotoxicity studies. It defines the features of nanoparticles and basic physically chemically parameters of liquid environment, which affect the speed and the ratio of agglomeration. It´s argued the influence of particular parameters on the results of ecotoxicity tests on water organisms and experimental approaches leading to suppression of this influences. In the experimental part of this work was characterized agglomeration colloids of silver, gold and titanium dioxide. The behavior of these particles was validating in environments with different parameters. The gained results were used by suggestions of toxicity test modification on water organisms.
