Self-sufficiency Evaluation of Geriatric Patients

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá hodnocením soběstačnosti u geriatrických pacientů. Práce byla rozdělena na dvě části. Teoretická část nabízí všeobecný a odborný pohled na problematiku stáří a stárnutí, geriatrii a gerontologii, dále na problematiku soběstačnosti a její hodnocení, zejména pak pomocí testu ADL. Dále jsme se věnovali sestře a její úloze ve vztahu k soběstačnosti pacienta a jejím kompetencím v této oblasti. Data v empirické části byla získána pomocí kvantitativního šetření. V rámci sebehodnocení byl respondenty vyplňován dotazník anebo byly informace zaznamenány pomocí strukturovaného rozhovoru. Do pozorovacího archu byli zaznamenány pohledy zdravotníků. Tyto zjištěné výsledky šetření byli zpracovány pomocí grafů a tabulek. Práce měla za úkol ověřit, zda hodnocení soběstačnosti prostřednictvím ADL testu provedené zdravotníkem se shoduje se subjektivním hodnocením soběstačnosti provedené pacientem. Dále zjistit, zda se při sebehodnocení prostřednictvím ADL testu více nadhodnocují ženy, či muži. A poslední úlohou bylo zjistit, zda věk respondentů ovlivňuje sebehodnocení prostřednictvím ADL testu. Na základě výsledků, jsme vytvořili upravený ADL test pro praxi.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis we dealt with self-sufficiency evaluation of geriatric patients. This thesis was divided into two parts. The theoretical part of the thesis offers a general and expert overview at problematics of senescence and ageing, geriatrics and gerontology, furthermore self-sufficiency and its evaluation, primarily then via ADL test. Last but not least we focused on nurses and their role in relationship with patients self-sufficiency and their competence in this field. Data, that was in the practical part, was obtained with the help of quantitative. Respondents filled questionnaire within the framework of self-sufficiency or information was registered with the help of structured interview. Viewpoints from doctors and health staff were registered at observational sheets. This data from investigation was utilized to graphs and charts. Thesis was focused on verifying if self-sufficiency evaluation via ADL test performed by doctors and health staff corresponded with subjective self-sufficiency evaluation performed by patients. The next part was focused on verifying who is more overestimated at self-sufficiency evaluation, females or males. And last part was focused on finding out, if respondents age affects self-sufficiency evaluation via ADL test. Based on results we created modifying ADL test for professional experience.
