Analysis of clonality and life forms of the flora of the Orlová-Lazy mine tailings

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá klonálním rozmnožováním a životními formami rostlin na odkališti, nacházejícímu se na území bývalého Dolu Lazy v katastru Lazy u Orlové. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na přírodní podmínky, stručnou historii a charakteristiku zájmového území. Značná pozornost je věnována klonálnímu růstu, což je forma vegetativního rozmnožování, která může rostliny v určitých podmínkách zvýhodňovat, jindy je však vlivem patogenů nevýhodná. Praktickou částí této práce byl floristický průzkum, který proběhl v létě a na podzim 2023 a na jaře 2024. V rámci hodnocení klonality byly vybrány dvě kategorie: klonální index, jehož hodnota znázorňuje úspěšnost rostliny se klonálně šířit a typ orgánu klonálního růstu. V celkovém součtu na lokalitě převažovaly neklonální rostliny, jejichž populace však nebyly tak četné, jako u klonálních druhů. V rámci typu orgánu klonálního růstu byla překvapivá dominance hypogeogenního oddenku nad epigeogenním, přestože se obecně nejedná o živinami bohaté stanoviště. Dle očekávání dominovaly z životních forem hemikryptofyty, nikoli však terofyty. Na odkališti bylo nalezeno 57 druhů rostlin. Zaznamenán byl zajímavý výskyt silně ohroženého skřípince Tabernaemontanova (Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani). Velice hojná byla populace expanzivní třtiny křovištní (Calamagrostis epigejos) a 10 invazních druhů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with clonal reproduction and life forms of plants in the tailings located on the territory of the former Lazy Mine in the cadastre of Lazy u Orlové. The theoretical part focuses on natural conditions, brief history and characteristics of the area of interest. Considerable attention is paid to clonal growth, a form of vegetative reproduction that can favour plants in certain conditions, but is disadvantageous at other times due to pathogens. The practical part of this work was a floristic survey carried out in the summer and autumn of 2023 and in the spring of 2024. Two categories were chosen to assess clonality: the clonal index, whose value represents the success of the plant to spread clonally, and the type of organ of clonal growth. Overall, the site was dominated by non-clonal plants, but their populations were not as numerous as those of clonal species. Within the clonal growth organ type, there was a surprising dominance of hypogeogenic rhizome over epigeogenic rhizome, although this is generally not a nutrient-rich habitat. As expected, hemicryptophytes, but not therophytes, dominated the life forms. Fifty-seven plant species were found in the tailings. An interesting occurrence of the highly endangered "skřípinec Tabernaemontanův" (Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani) was recorded. There was a very abundant population of the expansive "třtina křovištní" (Calamagrostis epigejos) and 10 invasive species.
