Anglicisms in spoken German. An analysis of teen-based TV programmes

Abstract:

In my diploma thesis I deal with the analysis of Anglicisms in contemporary spoken German. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part the basic terms Anglicism, neologism and internationalism are described, I also mention the possibilities of loanwords from English and I describe the process of borrowing Anglicisms. Fourth chapter, which deals with the integration of Anglicisms into German, is especially important. The end of the theoretical part is devoted to the description of language of young generation - the so-called Jugendsprache and to the language of mass media, because Anglicisms appear there as well. Further I characterize the features of spoken language and in short form I discuss the influence of television on youth. The practical part deals with the analysis of concrete loanwords. I am interested in occurrence and functionality of Anglicisms. The practical part is based on TV programs for youth. I study the English expressions in two analyses. In the analysis according to areas of communication I am looking for areas in which Anglicisms mostly appear, I am also focusing on frequency of loanwords according to word classes and gender of nouns. In the functional analysis I examine selected 27 Anglicisms from the point of view of graphic and morphological integration, word formation and stylistics. In the conclusion of my thesis I try to create a model for teaching of Anglicism.

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se zabývám analýzou přejímek z angličtiny v současné mluvené němčině. Práce je dělena na dvě části: teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části jsou popsány základní pojmy anglicismus, neologismus a internacionalismus, dále zmiňuji možnosti přejímek z angličtiny a popisuji proces přejímání anglicismů. Obzvláště důležitou kapitolou je kapitola čtvrtá, která se zabývá integrací anglicismů v němčině. V závěru teoretické části se věnuji popisu jazyka mladé generace tzv. Jugendsprache a jazyka masmédií, protože i zde se anglicismy vyskytují. Dále charakterizuji znaky mluveného jazyka a v krátkosti pojednávám o vlivu televize na mládež. V praktické části se zabývám analýzou konkrétních přejímek. Zajímá mě především výskyt a funkcionalita anglicismů. Podkladem pro praktickou část jsou televizní programy pro mládež. Jednotlivé výrazy zkoumám ve dvou analýzách. V analýze dle komunikačních oblastí zjišťuji, v které oblasti komunikace se vyskytuje nejvíce anglicismů, zajímá mě i četnost přejímek dle slovních druhů a rodu podstatných jmen. Ve funkční analýze zkoumám vybraných 27 anglicismů z hlediska grafické a morfologické integrace, slovotvorby a stylistiky. V závěru práce se pokouším problematiku anglicismů v jazyce mladých lidí zaměřit na potřeby výuky němčiny jako cizího jazyka v modelovém návrhu didaktizace v rámci jedné výukové jednotky.
