Sports preferences and physical activity of female and male students of the Technical University of Liberec

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je zjištění sportovních preferencí a pohybových aktivit studentů a studentek Technické univerzity v Liberci. Teoretická část se zabývá mladší dospělostí, pohybovou aktivitou, včetně jejího významu, doporučení i dělení a sportovními preferencemi. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 215 ze 410 možných respondentů a respondentek z různých studijních programů. Sběr dat probíhal pomocí dotazníku v terminu od 27. 2. 2023 do 15. 3. 2023. Studenti i studentky nejčastěji v průběhu roku provádí fitness, které uvedlo 15 % mužů a 19 % žen. Nejčastěji uváděný význam v prováděné pohybové aktivitě byl zdravotní, který uvedla přesně třetina mužů i žen, zároveň 42 % mužů a 47 % žen uvedlo, že nejčastější faktor, který nejvíce ovlivňuje účast studentů a studentek na výuce TUL je čas. 40 % studentů a 23 % studentek by se rádo při studiu nejvíce věnovali v kondičních aktivitách fitness. V individuálních sportech by se nejvíce studentů (15 %) chtělo věnovat stolnímu tenisu a 25 % studentek sebeobraně. Mezi kolektivními sporty uvedlo 33 % mužů, že by se rádi věnovali florbalu a 21 % žen volejbalu. V kurzovní výuce se 18 % mužů chce věnovat cykloturistice a 17 % žen turistice či běžeckému lyžování (rovněž 17 %). Výsledky práce budou předloženy Katedře tělesné výchovy a sportu FP TU v Liberci pro vyvození dalších závěrů a případných změn nabídky sportovních a pohybových aktivit.

Abstract:

The main goal of the bachelor's thesis is to find out the sports preferences and physical activities of the students of the Technical University in Liberec. The theoretical part deals with younger adulthood, physical activity, including its meaning, recommendations and divisions, and sports preferences. 215 out of 410 possible male respondents and fiale respondents from various study programs took part in the research. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire from 27/02/2023 to 15/03/2023. The most common activity during the year for male and female students is fitness, which was reported by 15 % of men and 19 % of women. The most frequently mentioned importance of physical activity was health, which was mentioned by exactly one third of both men and women, at the same time 42 % of men and 47 % of women said that the most frequent factor that most influences students' participation in TUL classes is time. 40 % of male students and 23 % of female students would like to devote themselves mostly to fitness activities during their studies. In individual sports, most students (15 %) would like to play table tennis and 25 % of women would like to play self-defense. Among team sports, 33 % of men said they would like to play floorball and 21 % of women said they would like to play volleyball. In course teaching, 18 % of men want to devote themselves to cycling and 17 % of women to hiking or crosscountry skiing (also 17 %). The results of the work will be submitted to the Department of Physical Education and Sport of the FP TU in Liberec for drawing further conclusions and possible changes to the offer of sports and exercise activities.
