Abstract:

Broadcast Yourself. Vizuální sebeprezentace Austrálců na Youtube. Bakalářská práce se zabývá výzkumem v oblasti vizuální sebeprezentace Austrálců na serveru YouTube. Základním východiskem práce je teorie domorodých médií (tzv. indigenous media) antropologů F. Ginsburg a T. Turner, která je použita pro rozbor 34 videí a 3 kanálů umístěných na serveru Youtube.com. Dále se práce zabývá srovnáním vlastní sebereprezentací Austrálců a vnějšími reprezentacemi jejich kultury. Předpoklad odlišnosti těchto dvou reprezentací (hlavní hypotéza práce) je ilustrován mýtem ušlechtilého divocha. Cílem je formulovat teoretickou bázi rámce výzkumu indigenous media v kontextu sociálních médií.

Abstract:

Broadcast Yourself. Visual self-presentation of indigenous Australians on Youtube. The thesis research is intrested in the field of visual self-presentation of Australians on YouTube. The fundamental basis of this work is a theory of indigenous media by anthropologists F. Ginsburg and T. Turner, which is used for the analysis of 34 video and 3 channels located on the site Youtube.com. The thesis focuses on the comparison of Aboriginals own self-representation and external representation of their culture. The assumption of divergence of these two representations (the main hypothesis of this study) is illustrated by the myth of the noble savage. The aim is to formulate a theoretical framework based on research of Indigenous media in the context of social media.
