Anthropological analysis of selected objects from Pasohlávky locality

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce navazuje na záchranný archeologický výzkum „Thermal Pasohlávky – multifunkční objekt a infrastruktura na poloostrově“ provedený v roce 2011 expoziturou Archeologického ústavu Akademie věd ČR Dolní Dunajovice pod vedením Mgr. Balázse Komoróczyho, PhD. Cílem teoretické části práce je zmapovat pohřební ritus v únětické kultuře a srovnat způsob pohřbívání v Pasohlávkách – „Poloostrově“ s jinými lokalitami, zejména pak únětickým pohřebištěm v Těšeticích – „Vinohradech“. Práce je řešena na podkladě dostupné literatury a předběžné nálezové zprávy o záchranném archeologickém výzkumu v Pasohlávkách. Šest z osmi zkoumaných únětických objektů patří do pozdní fáze únětické kultury a výrazně se tak liší od klasického těšetického pohřebiště. Praktická část práce pak má za cíl na souboru vybraných lidských kosterních pozůstatků provést antropologickou analýzu. Pomocí různých morfometrických a morfoskopických metod bylo odhadováno pohlaví, věk a výška postavy. Celkem bylo zkoumáno deset jedinců, z toho byli čtyři muži, tři ženy, u tří nedospělých jedinců nebylo pohlaví určováno. Dožitý věk byl průměrně 8 let u dětí, 22 u žen a 39 let u mužů. Výška postavy byla určena u tří mužů, průměr je 164,6 cm. Výsledky antropologické analýzy budou použity pro komplexní interpretaci archeologické lokality Pasohlávky – „Poloostrov“.

Abstract:

This thesis continues the rescue archaeological excavation “Thermal Pasohlávky – multifunctional building and infrastructure at the peninsula” realized by Dolní Dunajovice, the branch of Institute of Archeaology of the Academy of Sciences, of the Czech Republic, Brno, the fieldworks were led by Mgr. Balázs Komoróczy, PhD in 2011. The theoretical part of the thesis aims to describe burial rite in Unetice culture and to compare the differences between the burials at locality Pasohlávky – „Poloostrov“ other localities such as the necropolis in Těšetice – „Vinohrady“ dated to the same period. This work is based on th estudy of availible literature and preliminary report on the rescue archaeological excavation in Pasohlávky. Six out of eight explored objects were dated to the late phase of Unetice culture and thus we can expect differences from the classical necropolis in Těšetice. The practical part of the thesis aims to the anthropological analysis of preserved human skeletal remains. On the collection the sex, age and height were estimated according to selected morphometric and morphoscopic methods. There were observed et least ten individuals at all, four of them were estimated as man, three of them as women and the sex estimation was not determined in the cases of three immature individuals. The age at death was estimated to eight for children, 22 for woman and 39 for man on average. The height was estimated for man only, the average is 164.6 cm. The results of theis anthropological analysis will be used for the komplex interpretation of the archeological locality Pasohlávky – „Poloostrov“.
