Abstract:

Abstrakt Bakalářská práce se zabývá romskou menšinou žijící v České Republice. V úvodních kapitolách nalezneme vysvětlení základních pojmů, týkající se této menšiny, původ a historii Romů, jejich tradice a kulturu. Dále pojednává o charakteristikách vystihující tuto menšinu jejich tradičním způsobu života a ukazuje na problematiku se vzděláním, zaměstnáním a kriminalitu Romů. Praktická část je zaměřena na soužití Romů s většinovou společností, s cílem zjistit rozdíly romských obyvatel žijících v obcích a městech. Abstract:

Abstract My thesis deals with the Roma minority living in the Czech Republic. In the opening chapters, the thesis presents definitions of basic terms relating to this minority, the origin and history of the Roma and their traditions and culture. It then examines the characteristics that define the Roma and their traditional way of life and examines issues relating to their education, employment, and criminality. The practical section focuses on the coexistence of the Roma with mainstream society with the goal of identifying the differences between Roma living in rural areas versus urban areas.
