Melodram je žánr, který propojuje mluvené slovo s hudbou. V první polovině 20. století čeští skladatelé hojně zhudebňovali texty Jana Nerudy. Jedním z žánrů, v němž se často objevovaly verše Jana Nerudy, byl právě melodram. Na Nerudova slova zkomponovali melodramy Otakara Jeremiáš, Otakar Zich, Josef Bohuslav Foerster, Otakar Ostrčil ad. Abstract:
Melodrama is a genre that interconnects a spoken word with music. In the first half of the 20th century the Czech composers often set to music the texts by Jan Neruda. Among important personalities composing on Neruda’s words we can find the names of Otakar Jeremiáš, Otakar Zich, Josef Bohuslav Foerster, Otakar Ostrčil and other.
