(Un)conscious use of grammar gender

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the question of the use of grammatical category of gender in nouns. The issue is discussed from the sociolinguistic point of view. In the first part, morphological construction is analyzed with special regard to formation of feminine gender. In the second part, the androcentric setting of italian language and linguistic sexism are discussed. Text reflects the current situation of usage with subsequent critique of androcentic use of masculine nouns while describing women. Attention is called to grammatical and semantic asymmetries in nouns of agency.

Abstract:

Práca pojednáva o otázke použitia gramatickej kategórie rodu podstatných mien uchopujúc problematiku zo sociolingvistického hľadiska. V prvej časti práce sú analyzované morfologické konštrukcie substantív so zvláštnym zreteľom na tvorenie všeobecných podstatných mien ženského rodu. V druhej časti je diskutovaná otázka androcentrického nastavenia talianskeho jazyka, lingvistického sexizmu a konceptov s ním súvisiacich. V texte je reflektovaná súčasná situácia užívania substantív s následnou kritikou androcentrického úzusu pri označovaní ženských nositeliek substantívami mužského rodu. Pozornosť sa obracia predovšetkým na prítomnosť asymetrií gramatických a sémantických foriem činiteľských mien.
